Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annapurna Devi, officially launched the Birthing Naturally Queen Calendar 2025 in the capital on 20th March, reinforcing the importance of maternal mental health and holistic well-being for expecting mothers across India. The initiative, spearheaded by renowned maternal health advocate Dr. Mahima Bakshi, highlights the emotional and psychological journey of pregnancy while celebrating motherhood.
Now in its fifth edition, the calendar features expecting mothers from Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Delhi, and Faridabad, positioning them as ambassadors for maternal health awareness. Through this initiative, Dr. Bakshi aims to create a national dialogue around the emotional well-being of pregnant women and new mothers.
Expressing gratitude for the government's support, Dr. Bakshi emphasized the significance of providing proper care and encouragement to women during pregnancy and postpartum. “This initiative is about ensuring that women feel supported, both emotionally and mentally, throughout their maternal journey,” she said.
Dr. Bakshi, a leading expert in maternal and child health, has been advocating for better support systems for mothers since launching the Birthing Naturally Queen movement in 2021. She is also the author of two acclaimed books—Birthing Naturally and Empowering You Beyond Birthing—and hosts The Mahima Bakshi Show, a podcast dedicated to women’s and child health awareness.
With growing awareness of maternal mental health, the initiative aims to encourage open discussions, strengthen support networks, and drive national attention toward the overall well-being of mothers in India.
