UK to begin testing cosmetics on animals again
News

According to The Telegraph, the UK Supreme Court has ruled that animal testing for cosmetics can resume.

The United Kingdom banned the use of experimental animals in cosmetics testing in 1998, in accordance with European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) standards. Some ingredients, according to these standards, must be tested on animals in order to not endanger people.

The majority of major cosmetics companies, including Unilever, Boots, and the Body Shop, have stated that they believe the decision will come as a surprise to the millions of cosmetics users who support the ban on animal testing.
