According to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, new high-quality medicine production facilities open almost every month, and new breakthrough domestic developments enter the market that successfully compete with imported products.

"Today, 70% of the total number of drugs on the market are domestically produced, and in the list of vital drugs, this figure is 80%," he said in a congratulatory address on Pharmaceutical Worker Day.

According to Murashko, Russia's drug supply system is improving, and drugs are becoming more accessible to a wider range of citizens. Murashko stated that 13 laboratories have been established in the country to conduct comprehensive drug studies.

"Work has begun to provide high-quality medicines to medical and pharmacy networks in new Russian Federation territories, accelerating their integration into Russian healthcare," the minister added.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that the production of medical devices and medicines in Moscow increased by 43.7% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
