The Roszdravnadzor denied Izvestia's report about the Norkolut drug from Hungarian Gedeon Richter being unavailable in pharmacies. According to the agency, approximately 300,000 packs of Norkolut were introduced into civilian circulation in May, accounting for nearly half of the total supply volume for the previous year and meeting demand.

According to Anna Pokhitonova, head of the communications department at Gedeon Richter in Russia, the hormonal drug is manufactured in another country, so delivery is planned ahead of time. She claims that the manufacturer quickly resolves the logistics issues that arose in 2022.

GxP News, however, was unable to locate Norkolut on popular online pharmacy sites such as Apteka.ru, Rigla, Eapteka, Zdravcity, and ASNA. According to the Aptekamos.ru portal, which contains information about the availability of the required medicine in retail in Moscow and the surrounding area, Norkolut is only available at four locations (ranging from 118 to 420 rubles per pack).

The drug is prescribed to women who have hormonal diseases related to sexual function (uterine bleeding, endometriosis, menopause, and so on), as well as as an oral contraception method.
