According to the press service of the city's governor, AO R-Pharm (part of the R-Pharm group of companies) is investing more than 4 billion rubles in the construction of a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg.

Specifically, 2.9 billion rubles will be allocated for plant construction and equipment procurement, and 1.2 billion rubles will be allocated for R&D and technology deployment.

According to earlier reports, R-Pharm intends to build drug manufacturing facilities in St. Petersburg under the first offset contract by 2026. The city of St. Petersburg and R-Pharm signed a 10-year contract in January. The contract stipulates that the city authorities will purchase drugs from the company for a total of 8.7 billion rubles for seven years after the construction is completed.

The company is expected to manufacture 31 pharmaceutical products, including generics for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular and neurological diseases, and diabetes as part of the project.
