In a significant recognition of his contribution to the communications industry, Karan Bhatia, founder of PharmaNewsLive, has been appointed to the Global Advisory Board of the World Communications Forum Association (WCFA). The decision was unanimously approved during the WCFA’s Annual General Assembly held on May 15, 2025.

Karan is one of the few Indian professionals to join the WCFA’s Global Advisory Board, marking a proud moment for India’s presence in the international communications arena. With over 25 years of experience spanning public relations and media, he has consistently championed innovation, integrity, and impactful storytelling. Through PharmaNewsLive, he has helped carve a space for focused, credible journalism within India’s evolving pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

“This is indeed a remarkable opportunity for me. Representing a globally respected organization like WCFA in India is both an honour and a responsibility. The communications landscape in India is undergoing significant transformation, and I believe this platform offers the perfect space to amplify both the Indian and global PR narratives. I am thrilled to join the Advisory Board, connect with fellow leaders, and look forward to the journey ahead,” said Karan.

In his new role, Karan will contribute to WCFA’s mission by offering insights into India’s communications landscape and helping bridge global narratives through partnerships, strategic thought, and advocacy.

Maxim Behr, President of WCFA, welcomed the appointment, stating, “Karan’s expertise, innovative mindset, and strong ethical foundation will be a significant asset to the Board. His presence will further strengthen our commitment to promoting excellence, driving innovation, and upholding the highest standards in global communications.”

The WCFA, founded in November 2014 in Davos, Switzerland, is a non-profit organization led by a global community of communicators from Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Governed by Swiss civil law, the association serves as a neutral, non-denominational platform with an unlimited duration and a mission to foster global thinking and better communication practices. Its members—individuals who think and act globally—collaborate through representation, leadership, and influence to help advance societal, governmental, academic, and business goals through the power of communication.

Karan’s commitment to ethical storytelling and his vision for a more transparent, inclusive media landscape align closely with WCFA’s mission to foster positive societal change through meaningful communication. His appointment further strengthens the organization’s globally diverse Advisory Board, which aims to break ideological and geographical boundaries to shape a more connected and responsible communication culture.
