Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) and Bayer AG (BAYGn.DE) said on Monday that they would continue to supply humanitarian medicines to Russia while cutting back on non-essential spending in the country.

Global corporations have decided to distance themselves from Russia as consumer pressure mounts in the West to condemn its invasion of Ukraine.

"Halting the delivery of medicines, including cancer or cardiovascular therapies, would result in significant patient suffering and potential loss of life, particularly among children and the elderly," Pfizer explained.
