The Japanese government will provide a grant of 999 million yen (approximately $7.357 million) for the purchase of equipment and services.

President Sadyr Japarov has signed a law amending the law on ratification of exchange notes between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of Japan on the enhancement of Medical Equipment in Bishkek and Chui Region Assignment.

The law was passed by Kyrgyzstan's Parliament on April 13, according to the President's Administration with the purpose to put in place the procedure for ratifying exchange notes between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Japan.

The Improvement of Medical Equipment in Bishkek and Chui Region Project aims to increase diagnostic and treatment capacity for noncommunicable diseases in Bishkek and Chui Region, thereby improving the quality of health care services.
