India extends a donation of medication to support thalassemia patients in Armenia

In a benevolent gesture, India has provided 20,000 pills of an expensive medication crucial for treating thalassemia to the Armenian healthcare authorities. The official handover ceremony took place at the Yolyan Hematology Center in Yerevan. Ambassador of India to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, personally handed over the donation to First Deputy Healthcare Minister Lena Nanushyan.
During the ceremony, Nanushyan expressed her deep appreciation for the healthcare partnership existing between Armenia and India. She emphasized the immense importance of this donation, as it allows for the provision of costly drugs to children suffering from thalassemia without any financial burden on their families. With this generous donation, all 130 thalassemia patients in Armenia will receive the required medication free of cost, significantly alleviating the financial burden on their families.
The act of goodwill further strengthens the ties between India and Armenia, fostering collaboration and mutual support in the healthcare sector. Nanushyan and the Indian Ambassador took the opportunity to discuss potential areas for future cooperation between the two nations in healthcare, exploring new directions to further enhance medical services and support for their respective populations.
This donation not only showcases India's commitment to international healthcare solidarity but also highlights the significance of global partnerships in addressing critical health challenges. By working together, nations can pool resources and expertise to make essential medical treatments more accessible and affordable for those in need.
