India and Armenia sign MoU to enhance digital transformation solutions
Praising India’s use of technology to combat poverty and improve infrastructure, the Armenian Minister expressed hope that by working together, technologies can be developed to enhance the quality of life for mankind.
Furthering the cooperative relations between India and Armenia, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two countries during the Global Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Summit held as part of G20 Digital Economy Working Group meeting in Pune, India.
The MoU, titled “Cooperation in the Field of Sharing Successful Digital Solutions Implemented at Population Scale for Digital Transformation”, was signed by Gevorg Mantashyan, the First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, and Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Republic of India.
By signing the memorandum, India and Armenia have agreed to enhance collaboration in promoting institutional cooperation, digital transformation solutions, conducting feasibility studies, modernization assessment, and implementing digital transformation solutions.
Minister Mantashyan delivered a speech during the summit in which he highlighted the need to regulate technology without limiting its development and growth. He also emphasized the importance of digital public infrastructures and their impact on the people who use them.

As part of the summit, Minister Mantashyan will hold meetings with representatives from India’s public and private sectors. Discussions with delegations from other countries are also expected, the ministry said in a press release.
The summit, held under the aegis of India’s G20 Presidency, with the theme, “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, brought together G20 members, and representatives of 15 countries and international experts working in areas of digital governance. International organizations, policy makers, and practitioners working in the field of digital governance, also attended the summit which was aimed to share experiences and embrace digital public infrastructure to enhance the global digital economy.
The summit will also feature the Global DPI Exhibition, where G20 members and invited countries will showcase and demonstrate their population-scale DPIs at stalls.
