MediBuddy, a leading digital healthcare platform, reached over 1.27 crore Indians in 2024, showcasing the country’s accelerating shift toward digital health solutions. The platform’s latest report reveals evolving trends in how Indians approach and prioritize healthcare.

One standout finding is the emphasis on family and collective wellbeing, with nearly 40% of healthcare bookings made for family and friends. Among these, 44% were for parents, reflecting the younger generation's active role in ensuring parental care. Spouses accounted for 33% of bookings, while 11% were made for children, underlining the focus on partner and child health within Indian households.

Another significant trend is the growing demand for after-hours consultations. Approximately 37% of online consultations occurred post-6 PM, underscoring the need for flexible, round-the-clock healthcare that caters to modern, fast-paced lifestyles. This shift highlights the increasing importance of accessible and high-quality care beyond traditional working hours.

In terms of specialties, gastroenterology, pediatrics, and dermatology saw the highest demand. Rising awareness of gut health contributed to gastroenterology's popularity, while pediatricians supported families with children's health and growth. Dermatology consultations surged as more people sought expert advice on skin conditions, including acne and general skincare.

MediBuddy also recorded a remarkable effort by its phlebotomists, who collectively covered enough distance to travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari 2,192 times. Notably, women made up 25% of these healthcare professionals, reflecting growing female representation in the field and their critical role in driving the platform’s mission of accessible care.

The report underscores how digital healthcare is becoming more personalized and environmentally conscious, enabling individuals to make informed health choices that positively impact both their lives and the planet. MediBuddy’s data reflects a transformative year for India’s healthcare ecosystem, with digital solutions at the forefront of this change.
