The Republic of Bashkortostan's Parliament sent an appeal to the Russian Federation's Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, proposing to include continuous glucose monitoring systems in a special list for issuance at the expense of federal funds for diabetic children under the age of 18 inclusive. According to the State Assembly's telegram channel, the Kurultai of the Republic, the department reacted positively to the initiative.

"The department supported the deputies' proposal to provide diabetic children with continuous glucose monitoring systems," the State Assembly's telegram channel - Kurultai of the Republic reported. At the same time, the Russian Federation's Ministry of Health notes that such medical devices will be distributed to all Russian diabetics with a confirmed disability, regardless of age.

Bashkiria has over 120 thousand diabetic patients. There are 7,300 people with type 1 diabetes on dispensary records as of 2022, with 1,600 of them being children. The majority of them have a disability.

In April 2023, Aleksey Alekhin, Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Trade, proposed the establishment of a trust fund at the scientific institute to raise additional funds for the implementation of a federal diabetes project. "This practise of financing science - that is, trust funds - should be marked as a new tool," he said.
