According to "Argumenty i Fakty" with reference to The Guardian newspaper, the world's first babies were born with a set of DNA from three parents, not two.
The first child with three people's DNA was born as part of an IVF procedure to combat hereditary incurable diseases.
A mitochondrion from a donor cell from a third party was implanted in the embryo for the future IVF procedure, which contains genetic material from the father and mother. The combination of three people's genetic material will allow such children to avoid future problems with the inheritance of incurable diseases.
